Grace Christian Fellowship is an international evangelical church located in Ome City Japan. As a body of believers made up from different backgrounds and united in Jesus Christ we seek to show forth the truth of the Gospel (Eph 2-3) in our corporate worship and witness. Whether you are from Japan, temporarily living in Japan, or you are just wondering about Christianity, we invite you to join us as we gather each Sunday and throughout the week.
We believe that the Bible is the word of God and therefore we strive in the spirit of the reformers to faithfully teach his word chapter by chapter, verse by verse, week in and week out.
We confess the Apostle’s Creed, the Nicene Creed, and use the New City Catechism in our Sunday School class.

Church Leadership
Thomas Cotton
senior Pastor
Tom is an Australian serving in Japan since 2006. His wife Chika is from Osaka and they have four energetic young children.
Tom graduated from Bible College in Okinawa Japan where he also stayed on as teacher for another 6 years.
In 2015 he accepted a call to serve as the associate pastor of Grace Christian Fellowship along side the founding pastor Jonathan Wilson.
Since 2025 he now serves as the senior pastor of GCF. Tom has a passion for the Gospel, reformation theology, biblical worship, family discipleship, and healthy churches.
Ben Zedek Smith
Elder pro tempore
Ben is the senior pastor of Mitaka Evangelical Church a Japanese church in the Communion of Reformed Evangelical Churches.
After receiving pastoral training at Greyfriars Hall in Idaho, Ben returned to Japan to pastor at MEC since 2014.
From 2020-2025, Ben served as the PM Pro Tempore of the Hus Presbytery (CREC) and is involved in mission work in Eastern Europe and Asia.
In September 2025, Ben accepted Pastor Tom’s invitation to serve temporarily on the GCF session, providing spiritual oversight and support.
Morning Service
Our Bilingual morning service begins at 10am. The worship follows the order of covenant renewal seen throughout the worship of Bible with communion celebrated weekly.
Children’s Ministry
We currently have a Sunday school ministry for toddlers and young children during the morning service. If you would like your child to join please talk to one of the leaders at church.
English Cafe
The English Cafe is every 2nd Sunday of the month. It is 1:00-2:30pm and is a great opportunity to bring non-Christian friends!
Wednesday Bible Study
Our mid week Bible study is every second Wednesday at 8pm at Pastor Tom’s house. We are currently moving through the gospel of Luke with study, discussion, and prayer.
Summer VBS
Every Summer we hold a bilingual Vacation Bible School program for Elementary aged children. Older children are encouraged to attend as helpers and crew leaders!
Ome Festival
Each year in November Ome City holds an international festival in which the church takes part. It gives us a chance to be involved in the community, bless kids, sing worship songs, and share the gospel.
